This collection of holiday songs for Guitar and Ukulele includes arrangements of 40 Christmas and Hanukkah songs. Many of the arrangements are given in alternate keys, so they are all playable on both ukulele and guitar and in appropriate ranges for children’s voices!  This book includes many traditional songs, and some composed songs that your students will have fun learning.  We’ve included easy, medium, and harder arrangements.  Your students will have fun learning the easy and medium arrangements.  The teacher can use the harder arrangements to accompany students on either guitar or uke.  This is a wonderful new holiday collection!

Songs Include:

1. African Noel: This was originally a Liberian melody called Banuwa which means, “don’t cry little girl.” Sometime ago the words “Sing Noel” were added, creating a simple Christmas Song.

2. Jolly Old St. Nicholas: This traditional Christmas carol was written by Benjamin Hanby who also wrote “Up on the Housetop.”

3. Up on the Housetop: This traditional Christmas song was written about 150 years ago!

4. Joy to the World: The words are a hymn based on the second half of Psalm 98 in the Bible. The melody is based on music by Handel.

5. Jingle Bells: This is a Christmas favourite originally written for Thanksgiving.

6. Christmas Chopsticks: The lyrics are from the poem “‘Twas the Night before Christmas.”
