In 1736 the Leipzig publishing firm of Breitkopf brought out the Musicalisches Gesang-Buch of Georg Christian Schemelli, containing hymn melodies harmonized (in figured-bass form) by Johann Sebastian Bach. Thirteen of these are now available in masterful arrangements for recorder quartet, SATB, by Paul Clark, the noted English recorder specialist. Intermediate level.
