SP2369 Masterwork Themes For Three Soprano Recorders  Arranged by Brad Bonner

A collection of Classical and Romantic themes arranged for beginning to advancing elementary and middle school students. When using this collection and CD, your students become involved with the composers by actually learning to play excerpts of their music. Each of the four arrangements in this book includes three soprano recorder parts. Recorder part one is the melody. Recorder part two provides harmony. Recorder part three is a basic part written for the beginning player. Recorder parts one and two were written for advancing elementary players. All three parts blend together to make a finished arrangement. If you have a class where different ability levels are present, you can keep all the players involved in the lesson by choosing the proper part for each group. When using the CD accompaniment tracks, any part can be played to complete the arrangement.

The CD accompaniments help students maintain interest during the lesson and were written to enhance the recorder parts separately or as a trio. There are five recorded tracks for each Masterwork theme. Track 1 is a “live” recording of the trio parts. Track 2 is an accompaniment track for the trio written in the style of the composer whose melody is being played. The other three tracks are “live” solo recordings for each part.
This collection is a versatile set of lessons for the teacher who wants to introduce students to the wonderful music of several of history’s great composers. You and your students will enjoy the time you spend with the music of Franz Joseph Haydn, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Gioacchino Rossini, and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky!
